Whatever you're planning, One Box Television has available a wide range of additional equipment designed to meet almost every broadcast need. Whether you are looking for a jib for some stunning shots, a few more talkbacks on the floor, or even ask us to help you source a satellite uplink, we're here to help. There isn't much we've not already done.
Richard Stevenson has supplied and operated Jimmy Jibs to some of the most well known shows over the last 15 years. Covering every genre, his credits include Last Night of The Proms, Top of The Pops, The Fast Show, Question of Sport numerous projects for CBBC and Cbeebies including Blue Peter, Tikabilla, SMart, Xchange, Springwatch and more recently, Mr Bloom's Nursery. His Technocrane CV includes the pilot of Who Wants to be A Millionaire and over 100 subsequent shows both in the UK and in Europe.
With the increasing amount of HD shoots, the need for vision control has grown. A custom-made "10u" box allows remote vision control facilities of 5 cameras using our own V-Lock camera boxes. The box docks between camera and battery and gives all facilities down one cable. The "vision box" comes with 5 Sony remote panels, and HD switcher, preview monitors, waveform monitor and HD monitor. The unit also comes with a talkback facility that allows the engineer to talk directly to the lighting director on one private channel, and speak to the director on another.
Whilst we own and operate a number of the latest HD lenses, there are often requirements for something that is that bit tighter. The 40:1 and 86:1 kits are frequent visitors to One Box Television shoots. For one project, an 86:1 lens was delivered to site within two hours of ordering it after the event organiser insisted that a camera position be moved from the front by the stage to the back of the hall! By working closely with some of the biggest hire companies in the industry, One Box Television have developed a relationship that gives us the service that you expect.
Whilst the standard panel allows three independent people to listen and talk in the gallery, the system can be expanded from camera talkback facilities to include radio talkback, sound talkback and presenter talkback. We supplied 40 radios to one project on 3 channels. As JFMG licence holders, we are just a phone call away from expanding requirements to suit your project. A recent Culture Show shoot had "open" floor manager talkback and two independent switched talkbacks for two presenters.
After a number of requests to play in a DVD to an in-vision plasma, and the associated problems that come with domestic technology, One Box Television invested in a Mac based VT server package. Equally at home feeding stills or VT packages, the first use was at The Royal Windsor Horseshow feeding graphic and VT packages to the screens for the evening Tattoo. After an "in at the deep end trial" the software has more recently been used for Bang Goes The Theory and for the Spending Debate (BBC NW).
From a 17" LCD on wheels to a 32" LCD on a chrome stand, we can supply floor monitors to match your requirements. Maybe a separate producer position or a monitor with in-vision timecode for the PA. We also own a selection of HD monitors with preview switchers for lighting directors to use. Quad split monitors are available too. For a recent project, we have supplied 3 x 9" LCD screens with reverse scan for the puppeteers.
It is not unusual to need a DVD of your recording prior to the edit. This can be recorded with or without burnt-in timecode. With one of our mixers, we can provide an 8 way split showing all your cameras and TX so you can sit with your laptop and see the whole show at a glance.
Working closely with providers such as SIS Live, our unique fibre kits allow us to take the One Box output and carry over several hundred metres to a satellite truck parked outside. This allows you to concentrate on producing your show from inside the venue with the One Box housed close to the action.
Broadcast your event online. We can deliver your show to a global audience managing all elements of the broadcast. From the player setup and hosting to onsite live encoding & remote satellite internet connections, One Box Television looks after it all to ensure a successful broadcast.
